The Rhino whole house water filter - healthy, clean, pure water with virtually no Chlorine

Why do we need a water filter? We all want good health today, and we are encouraged to drink plenty of pure water. But just how healthy is the water you drink? Can you be sure that it isn’t full of chlorine and fine dirt particles? To get pure, clean water, you need the Rhino whole house water filter.

But our water is already clean... isn’t it?

Just how clean is it? Ever noticed the horrible smell of chlorine when you turn on your tap? Is that clean? Really? According to the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) “...every home has an elevated level of chloroform gas present due to

the vaporisation of chlorine...from tap and shower water.” Chlorine may kill the bugs (or some of them - see What’s in your water?), but what does the chlorine do to you?

We already have a water filter in the kitchen

Excellent! You already appreciate filtered water. So why invest in a water filter that filters your whole house? Here are some reasons:

  • Pure drinking water at EVERY tap
  • Remove chlorine at every tap - your body absorbs more chemicals during a 10 minute shower than drinking 4.5 litres of the same water
  • The steam produced from showering contains 10 - 30 times the concentration of chemicals than in water
  • Softer water
  • Reduction of allergies and conditions such as eczema
  • Less irritation to the skin and hair
  • Improved indoor air quality

Depending on what is causing allergies and irritations, reduction of chemicals in the water may cause a noticeable effect.

According to the US Council of Environmental Quality, “Cancer risk among those people drinking chlorinated water is 93% higher than those whose water does not contain chlorine.” One of the most frightening statistics in recent chlorinated water studies is that 2/3 of harmful chlorine exposure is due to steam inhalation and skin absorption while showering. Your kitchen bench water filter is only doing, at best, 1/3 of the job!

How does the Rhino water filter work?

Click the image top right to get a close up view of the filter arrangement. The Rhino EQ-300 uses a patented multi-stage filtration system for optimum results. It produces non-detectable levels of chlorine for 1,200,000 litres - the highest certified capacity of any home water filter ever!  Just replace the Stage 1 sediment filter every 12 weeks, and the main filter every 3 years. Both these operations are easily carried out yourself - only the initial installation needs a registered plumber.

Do you have chlorine reduction tests?

The Rhino Whole of House Water Filtration system is certified by Underwriters Laboratories to NSF standard 42 with class 1 performance and has a 1,200.000 litre / 3 year capacity at 27 lpm. This means the system is certified to remove chlorine, odour, foul tastes and sediment. The Rhino produces non-detectable levels of chlorine for 12,000,000 litres - the highest certified capacity of any home water filter ever! Read the chlorine reduction test results here.

Our personal experience with the filter

Myrna came to live here in February 2007 from California - where whole house filters are already commonplace. Within a few months her eczema got substantially worse and her hair became dull and lifeless, and began to fall out. When she returned to the USA for a visit between July and October that year, both her hair and eczema improved. We had a filter installed soon after her return and this made a marked difference in both areas. We wouldn’t be without our filter now, and are installing one in our new house to be built in Whangaparaoa.

We recently changed the sediment filter in our filter (needs changing every 12 weeks). After even such a short time, look at what our “clean” water has done to it! Even if the water is clean of sediment at the plant, how good are the pipes between there and your house?
