This exectuive home built on Auckland’s north Shore was done as a spec house, and so the colours used throughout the dwelling were kept quite neutral. Despite this, the exterior beige weatherboards contrasted well with the double-size brick and dark roof to produse a striking, yet subdued finish.

The entry area was emphasized with a small deck, opening off the upstairs gallery area, providing the

shelter. Both the ceiling above the deck area, and below the deck were clad with timber sarking giving the richness that only wood can do.

Large windows all round ensure that this house has plenty of light and takes advantage of views (especially from the upper level) back to the city in the south.
