Architecture and architectural design at Tarzan Design - a history and overview

MAJOR UPDATE - 24 Dec 09

From 24 December 2009, Tarzan Design Ltd will be owned and operated By Bobby Banerjee as director and senior architectural designer.

Ian and his wife are moving to California, America to live and pursue other endeavours.  However, Ian will continue to be involved with Tarzan Design Ltd as an outsource consultant.  With the ease of file transfer, location has become almost irrelevant.

A personal note from Ian.....

“I have been doing architecture for nearly 15 years and it’s been an interesting road, and I have met many people and made some great friends.  However, circumstances have dictated the change and I am looking forward to getting started in California.  Whilst being available to consult to Tarzan Design, my wife and I have already begun the process of setting up our new company CitrusKiwi which will specialise is web design and web solutions.

I wish Bobby and his wife all the best in continuing Tarzan Design and recommend him highly to both past and future clients.”

A personal note from Bobby.....

“Little did I know that, 7 years ago when I joined Tarzan Design Ltd fresh off the plane from India, that in a short time I would be taking over!  I’ve really enjoyed my time working for, and with, Ian and am now looking forward to the fun and challenges of being the boss!

With my background in residential, commercial and interior design in India, and the solid grounding I have had here at Tarzan Design Ltd, I am confident I will be able to continue providing the great service and standards we have become known for!”

Ian Shere founded Tarzan Design Ltd. in 1994  with its core competency in residential design and planning followed by a number of successful subdivision projects and commercial jobs.  He was also the past president of the Auckland branch of the Architectural Designers of New Zealand.

Bobby Banerjee from India joined the company in 2002 and brought with him a rich experience of Residential, Commercial, Corporate & Interior Designing Projects. He is the Senior Designer in the company and is also skilled in 3D visualizations.

Our head office is located in Auckland, New Zealand.The office uses the latest CAD software, computers and plotters to produce clear and concise drawings.

Communication with the clients and consultants (national and international) is usually by email making it fast and easy, but we realise some prefer traditional mail and more face-to-face meetings.  These clients aren’t left out.  All drawings are produced in A2 format for ease of handling and readability.

 Tarzan Design Ltd has designed over 900 projects all over New Zealand since its inception with more than 860 built projects. The majority of our work is in the greater Auckland area, although we have been involved in projects from as far north as Kaitaia, to Queenstown in the south.  Our core business is Residential Architectural design, but we have also been involved in light commercial and industrial, and hotel conceptual design.
